“M.A.AL-KHARAFI & SONS W.L.L” | “MAK-ALBANIA” Sh.p.k A NAME TO DEPEND ON “MAK-ALBANIA” Sh.p.k, is a subsidiary of M.A.Al-Kharafi & Sons W.L.L, which is active in Albania since 1992, established its first well-known company in Albania. MAK-Albania is classified as the largest company in Albania with interests in investment, contracting, and participation in international tenders for infrastructure, roads, hospitals, bridges, airports and major projects in Civil Engineering. “MAK-Albania” contribute in the Albanian tourism sector with many investment projects as “MAK-Villas” located near “Qemal Stafa” Stadium completed on 1994, “Chateau Linza Motel and Restaurant” located at Linza – Dajti Mountain completed on 1995,”Linza Residential Complex” located in Linza completed on 1996, “Tourist Village - Mali i Robit Golem Resort” located in Golem – Kavaja District completed on 1998. On September 2003 the 5-star “Sheraton Tirana Hotel & Towers” was inaugurated. The hotel is located near University of Tirana – Sheshi Italia. It is one of the most luxury ones in Albania, consisting of 151 rooms including 56 suites of different categories, two towers floors, restaurants and bars, meeting and conference facilities, health club with indoor and outdoor pool, shopping mall including a variety of 30 shops, ect. “MAK-Albania” Construction Division was awarded many projects such as “Construction of American Embassy Consular Building” completed on 1996”, “Construction of New Warehouse Building at American Embassy” completed on 1997, “Rehabilitation and construction of Fushe Kruja Mamurras Road” completed on 1999, “Rehabilitation works of Rinas Airfield, extension of existing Apron at Rinas Airport” completed on 2001. On December 2002 “Durres Port Rehabilitation Project” which included the Reconstruction of Quays No.5 and 6 inclusive of piling, beams, decks and erection of sheet pile wall, Rehabilitation of the Western Breakwater, Rehabilitation of rock-fill for western breakwater, erection of 8 nos. of high masts. The successful construction of Zayed Airport, Kukes in joi9nt venture with the mother company “M.A.Al-Kharafi & Sons W.L.L.” Contract No. MW-0U-068-2001. The construction works commenced on May 2003 and were substantially completed on 31st October 2006. The works consisted of Construction of a new Airport including Runway, Apron, Link Road, Terminal for passengers, Control Tower, Store, Fire-fighting Building, all other ancillary buildings related to this new airport. Recently “M.A.K. & Mak-Albania” JV was awarded the contract for the Construction of Navigation Aids and Communication System of Zayed (Kukes) Airport the works of which are on progress.
